About this category
This award recognises a network, radio, transmission, core or planning engineer whose technical skill and problem solving have kept networks running and improved them. Judges look for the quality and impact of the work and how they help colleagues.

Open to individual engineers working on UK telecoms and data networks.

Additional criteria
Entries should include a concise case study, supporting figures such as premises passed, coverage, uptime, speeds, take up, customer satisfaction or carbon saved, and, where possible, comments from customers or partners. Commercially sensitive figures can be given as ranges or percentages, and nothing in an entry is shared beyond the judging panel. Never include customer personal data, credentials or details of unresolved security weaknesses. Judges consider the size and stage of the business, so a regional alternative network provider competes on equal terms with a national operator.
